Female with dark hair wearing brown cardigan: To plan your writing is important because you want to get it right.
It gives you a chance to get your ideas into an order.
There's lots of different ways you can plan, you can just draw a circle and put the subject in the middle, and just, you know, put your ideas around it, or you can write out a rough draft.
Charlotte: When I'm writing a letter to a client, I find planning very helpful so that I don't miss out or forget any key points.
Sometimes I even like to type up a rough draft of the letter so that I can re-read it through and see whether I want to make any changes or adjustments and things like that.
Male Hotel Employee wearing grey suit: A lot of the letters that I write can be sensitive, and so those letters can be quite difficult to start sometimes.
My way of getting over that is to write the letter exactly the way I would say it if the person was sitting in front of me at the time.
What I'll then do is structure the letter in such a way that it does have formal paragraphs and it makes sense.
